ISET PNG – Student Information and Policies

1. Assessment and Certification

All assessments follow the competency-based approach under the PNG National Qualifications Framework (NQF). Students are required to:

• Submit all assignments and practical exercises on or before the set due date.
• Participate in group activities, presentations, and case study evaluations.
• Achieve competency across all required performance criteria for the course unit.

Certificates are issued by the Department of Open and Distance Learning (DODL) – PNG University of Technology (PNGUoT) upon verification of all results and completion of all course components.

2. Academic Integrity and Code of Conduct

• Students must maintain honesty in all assessments, avoiding plagiarism or cheating.
• Respect for trainers, staff, and fellow students is mandatory at all times.
• Harassment, discrimination, or disruptive behaviour will not be tolerated.
• Use of foul or abusive language within training sessions is strictly prohibited.

Violations may result in disciplinary action, suspension, or expulsion from the program.

3. Attendance and Participation

Attendance is compulsory for all sessions. Students must attend at least 80% of the training hours to qualify for final assessment and certification.

Absences due to valid reasons (e.g. medical, family emergency) must be communicated in writing to ISETPNG administration.

4. Fees and Refunds

All course fees must be paid before the commencement of training. Receipts will be issued for every payment.

• No refund will be granted once training has started.
• If a course is cancelled by ISETPNG or DODL–PNGUoT, students may transfer their payment to another intake or request a refund.

5. Student Support and Welfare

ISETPNG ensures every student has access to academic and wellbeing support. Assistance is available for:

• Assessment clarifications and feedback.
• Guidance on job readiness and WHS career opportunities.
• Requests for replacement of lost certificates (with official verification).

Students seeking help should contact their course coordinator via the provided institutional email channels.
