Year 1 – Certificate I–III in WHS with English and Law

Learning Style: English and Safety are learned together—English grammar at the expense of Safety basics and vice versa. Students gain core WHS principles, communication, and professional skills grounded in law and practice.

Qualifications:

  • Certificate in English Grammar & Writing Skills
  • Certificate in Commercial Practice & Law
  • BSBWHS30719 Certificate III in Workplace Health & Safety

Year 2 – Advanced Certificate in Commercial Practice & Law and Certificate IV in WHS

Focus on supervisory, legal, and business skills applied to real workplace safety management. Students analyse hazards, assess risks, interpret WHS laws, and apply compliance frameworks through negotiation and project work.

Qualifications:

  • Advanced Certificate in Commercial Practice & Law
  • BSBWHS41419 Certificate IV in Workplace Health & Safety

Outcome: Ready to coordinate WHS programs, ensure compliance, and supervise workplace safety teams.

Year 3 – Diploma in Commercial Practice & Law and Diploma in WHS

Students advance to leadership level—integrating governance, compliance, and strategic risk management with WHS systems. They design, implement, and audit safety programs and lead change projects.

Qualifications:

  • Diploma in Commercial Practice & Law
  • BSBWHS51319 Diploma of Workplace Health & Safety

Outcome: Dual Diploma graduates qualify for senior WHS, Compliance, or Management roles and may progress to degree-level study.

Your 3-Year Journey

Start: Choose your intake on the Calendar, complete the Registration form, receive an acceptance letter with fee quotation.
Year 1: English foundations integrated with WHS basics — Safety Management System (SMS).
Year 2: BSBWHS41419 Certificate IV — supervisory-level competency aligned to PNG NQF.
Year 3: BSBWHS51319 Diploma — Design/assure an SMS, lead small teams, and present improvement findings to stakeholders.
Graduate: Results are verified and academic certification is issued by DODL-PNGUoT. You’ll receive your credential and a job-readiness pack (CV template, interview practice notes, and case-study portfolio).

Entry Requirements

  • Completed Grade 10 or Grade 12.
  • Training delivered in English; Year 1 includes English support.
  • Bring a notebook; laptops are optional.
